Viticulturist – Peter Raymond yearned to have a vineyard of his own, but the location would be the deciding factor before the journey could even begin.
In 2008, 15 acres became available along the highly prized stretch of road – Gnadenberg in the Barossa’s beautiful high country of Eden Valley. The property is spectacular and takes in a landscape of rolling hills and vineyards dotted in the distance.
Today the stone cottage, built in 1854 is once again surrounded by vineyards and producing wine grapes of ultimate quality.
This is one of those stories that gets better each time you go back to ask another question.
How did a viticulturist make such a great wine? There’s no longer any boundary fence between vineyard and winery, and after decades of watching and learning, Raymond’s winemaking skills were just waiting for the call.
